<< Picking a woman or minority (like Mondale did in 84 is seen as a sign of weakness, b/c you, the main candidate, look like yoou cannot rally votes on your own) is dangerous >>

It also perceived as pandering to the PC crowd, unless the choice possesses unimpeachable credentials.

Ridge is out already...but he has told Bush to choose McCain.

Recent reports show that Bush is very close to choosing Dick Cheney...while many Republicans in the House want him to choose McCain.

<< But what makes you think that Bush will be any better >>

He could not be worse!

In the last four years or do you mean eight? Remember when the Republicans got control of Congress. First time. Look at a stock chart. That is when the economy went skyward.

They stopped more tax increase. Clinton's first budget included the largest tax hike in history.

GW preaches better more efficient Government. Gore just preaches more Government.

Remember 'Welfare to Work?'

You know I could go on and on...;)

I don't like Bush Senior! He pissed away a lot of the momentum Reagan had going. If it were not for Reagan Bush would never have gotten even close to the Whitehouse.

GW, has a pretty good record in Texas. It is difficult to find a Texan from either party that really dislikes him.

He is acceptable... just barely!:D

As I've said before, if the Republicans don't deliver, they will not have a more severe critic than myself.

This country didn't get as screwed up politically as it is overnight. It will take years of gradual change to correct this.

I hate to keep harping, but removing money from Washington is the best and maybe the only hope of returning some sort of fiscal responsibility back to the People.

If them Bozos have the $, they will sure as Hell find a way to spend it! Tax cuts! Now!

<< And I can't stand Republicans. I actually think I just can't stand Politicians in general. >>

But it's the only game in town....

<< They have gone against the public sentiment time and time again and will continue to do so no matter the consequences >>

So did Thomas Jefferson. So did Abraham Lincoln. Hate to tell you this, Red, but public sentiment is frequently wrong.

But, that aside, give us an example of this. It's one thing to level a broadside allegation; yet another to backup the statement with FACT. Go ahead, name a SINGLE time that the Republicans - not some isolated example of ONE politician who happens to call himself a Republican - but the party as a whole, has "gone against public sentiment".
