bigvince, Republicrats and Demlicans are the same, especially at the national level. Get it?? Some of us would rather help fix the system rather than "play" it like you're doing.

Again you are right and right on with the immediate gratification and forget the long term.. Isnt that the way most people live their lives. Sad but true.

Don't caste George W. Bush down in the same boat as known insiders and liars like Al Gore. Tell me now, what has he lied about? I wouldn't doubt that he may have exagerrated some things, but sh|t, if you were running for office you'd do the same. At least he doesn't go around trying to claim credit for sh|t that he had nothing to do with in the first place.

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah... Then I took the initiative to *CREATE* the internet!

And I'm sick of hearing this cr@p about Al Gore being some kind of genius. Go do a search on the internet for Al Gore's grades in college, and you'll see that he seldom broke the courtesy "D" while at Harvard. No, George W. Bush is not the most articulate speaker in the world, but I have a feeling he's a lot more intelligent than the country's liber media *cough* Democratic party controlled Big Brother *cough* wants you to think. He is *afterall* running for President on the ticket of one the nation's two biggest parties, not exactly a feat that can be accomplished by a simpleton. And he did, afterall, reform education in Texas. Al Gore would have sold education out to the greedy Teacher Unions for their vote in the next election :p

Cybersux quote:

What bushlite did in Texas was reduce the standards to such a level that State test scores have risen. If you look at national testing, his state comes out near the bottom every time. The dropout rate among blacks and hispanics in his state is so high it's embarrasing.

Bushlite talks about the "recession" of our national education system, despite the fact that test scores have risen the last 7 years, on a national scale. Which makes him a liar, but hey we all knew that. Well, those of us with the ability to read, anyway.

On further note, it is typical republiKlan thinking to attribute any percieved "imporovements" in the state to bushlite, but any situation (i.e.; pollution and corruption) that has not changed is something that he is NOT responsible for...

Sad, sad, sad.

OMG, If I had kids and lived in Texas....I'd move tomorrow!

Many schools don't have any libraries at all! They are soooo preoccupied with passing the 'test' that they have little time for learning. Most of their funds are spent on software designed to prepare kids for the 'test.'

1 out 3 Texas High School graduates have to take remedial classes upon entering college. Many of them can't even write a complete sentence...because most of their experience is training for the multiple choice 'test.'

Several school districts have already been found guilty of cheating and helping teachers/students cheat on the test.

What's really amazing is to watch the Democrats from Texas defend Bush's record.

In the beginning, the Libs bashed Bush for inexperience saying that the Governor's post in Texas has little power. Now, as they slowly see that their Goreship is sinking, they blame him for everything and censor the Texan Democrats...

This is great fun to watch!:D

Ferocious----I would like to know where you came by the information that most schools in Texas don't have libraries. I have visited over ten schools in the Dallas area(Louisville, Flowermound area) and have to say all of them had libraries and they even had BOOKS in them. :)
How do you define most? And I do not live in texas.

As far as lowering requirements in schools, that isn't a texas problem, that is a national problem.

Al Gore has to be one of the most inept people I have ever seen.

The article linked was interesting. I trust GW more to represent more views than gore.
And that is what government is about. Anyone who votes for gore probably also believes that the USA is a democracy.

The thing is, Cybersax, is that your boy keeps saying that he wants to restore dignity to the white house. A person who says things like that should not lie, cheat, and steal. And he should not be seen drinking after he "vowed" to give up drinking. The fact that he "vowed" to get on the wagon and then allowed himself to be filmed drinking (an act of incredible arrogance) shows that he thinks people like YOU are idiots.

If you had any experience watching people drink, you know he was slamming down a drink at the end of that shot. You do not finish off a glass of apple juice like that!

It is so easy to point out the sins of others?but at least you should get your facts straight, and back up what you say. I would be the first to admit that Gore is not perfect. But I also understand that politicians are liars. Look at what they DO, not what they say. And what bushlite DOES is drink, after he said he swore off alcohol.

Furthermore, when conservatives bitch about perceived inadequacies in Gore's prescription plan, they never mention that bushlite did not even HAVE a prescription plan until August 15th. Bush talked a lot about how bad Gore's plan was, but never offered one of his own until then.

Semper fi: Since Gore has set aside twice as much money as bushlite for military spending, can you please comment on how GW is going to be a better friend to our men in uniform? The number of GI's on food stamps is less than half what it was when King George the first was in office. When Gore wants to spend 50 billion more than Bush to shore up the military, you have to wonder why the vets support GW.

Semper: I wrote many...not most. (I could put a joke here but I wont.:))

The information I got was from a 60 minutes episode a few weeks back which did a story on Texas's education system

Many school administrators get bonuses based on test scores. No wonder they don't care about a kid's education very much....but rather want them to study and train for the 'test.'

A damn shame in my opinion.
