Bush Computer desk NOW $14.92!!! Thanks Whizbang!!

I took my receipt in today and got the adjustment to $14.92. I asked manager if they had any more. He shot me a look of disgust and said there were no more in the district and he knows that because I was the 13th person to ask about it today.

Here is how lucky I am. Yesterday, I went to two stores here in South Bay, and they were all sold out. Today I was driving on stevens creek in San Jose, and I see an OD store. So I stopped by.
There was one desk there. It had a sticker that said "Do not sell display". So I asked the manager about that, and she said that if I really wanted it, he would let me have it. I think she just got tired of people asking her about it.
I believe this was last one in the south bay, cus I went to 2 other OD stores here, and called others, and they didn't have it. Also, there was one on hold on El Camino is Sunnyvale, so i the unlikely case the guy didn't pick it up, it goes off hold tomorrow.
 
thanks jhouston!! I read your post today and I went over to my local OD and lo and behold there were two of the desks and a display unit. Two prices were there, a $89 and $79. I asked the clerk to "double-check" the prices (hehe smooth ugh?) and imagine his face when he came back, "umm, actually they went down in prices..., $14.92 is the actual price."

I grabbed those two in the box and thought about getting the disply, but what was i going to do with so many computer desks? lol plus there was a little chip in the paint on the disply desk. Anyway I paid the price and now I am typing on the desk... smelling the sweet smell of new wood~

Hah! These were a great deal at $40 each...a week ago, I called around here (in Toledo) and none were here...so i dialpad called a store in cincinatti (where my older bro and sis live) and they were able to get 2. Wonder if they can go back w/ the receipt and get a refund or something, reflecting the new price?
 
Thanks guys ! I hit the 4 OD's in the local area, and finally managed
to find ONE at the last of the four. It had a note scrawled on it " hold
for ??? , 3/5/01". They should have picked it up - you snooze, you lose.
I think trying to be pleasant and courteous to the lady helping me paid
off in this situation. Now I will have a desk to build for the computer
I am building - anybody got a good deal on an Antec SX1030 shipped for less
than $100 , hmmmmmmm <grin>.
 
when I went to the the 16th and bryant in San Francisco, the cashier told me that they have 4 in stock 1 as display and other 2 was hold for a guy name Ricky and I grab the final. Which i give it back to my friend since he got one last Wednesday for $25, time to do some price adjustment. : )

 
Had go into the back room myself but found the desk hiding after I was told they did not have any. According to the computer they have 3 more. Well if anyone is in Houston store 20 is suposed to have 3 left (1:00pm) today. I found mine in the back aile on the right hand side. Did not look for the other stuff but some of the other disc could be thier also.

I was looking to pickup one of the O'Sullivan desks for my kids,
but have been unsucessful thus far.

I did manage to find one the the Bush desks, a floor model,
after hitting three different stores. I asked the sales person to see if he had another one still in the box - said he didn't think so, but offered to take something off the price if I wanted to purchase the floor model. Needless to say, I had trouble keeping the HUGE grin off my face when he told me he didn't have a boxed model, but would give it to me for $10!!!!

The cashier was pissed off - she said she had been needing a desk - why hadn't the guys in the furniture dept. told her about this?!?!

We even had two guys help us load it into our minivan.

My wife scored some folders for the kids - sea/marine graphics on them - originally .99 -> .88 - they rang up for .12 - going back for more.

Got the last one in Lexington, KY. After some deliberation with the manager, she allowed me to purchase the demo unit. At the other OD here they were out, but called the other store for me and found out they had 7, but when they checked the stock, the computer hadn't actually been updated and the girl told me they were out of stock. I didn't trust it and went to the other store anyway and found a demo unit not spoken for. The employees told me they had one out back, but someone at the other store just called to have it delivered to that store. The girl who phoned the other store for me probably saw the awesome price and she was the one that reserved it for herself. I was standing in front of her when she made the call and she went to the other side of the cs desk (hmm.. I wonder why). Can you believe that? She coulda got her fat butt on the Internet and discovered the deal for herself. Doesn't matter, I got one.. though one of the wheels broke off when we were loading it in the back of my truck. Anyone know where I can replace wheel casters real cheap? I'll probably wind up giving the desk away to my fiance's mom, but would like to fix it up first. At least I didn't have to put it together.
