Well, I would hope he answered every question. He's implying there was doubt. Maybe there was. What was he going to do? Plead the 5th even though he wasn't under oath? Or maybe Cheney might have had a coughing fit and Bush was unable to talk.

It just really burns your ass that you are 'left out of the loop' on this one, maybe that was the
goal all along and you just took the piss...How does it taste? 😉

I don't know about conjur, but I admit to the fact that this really pisses me off. Not the fact that I'm out of the loop as you put it. But because of the "testifying together" issue. You? You don't care? It doesn't bother you? You accept the "time" explanation?

As per my speculation *up there*, I am actually clueless as to the why, But just as everyone else
I, also, can speculate.

I don't care, and no, it does not bother me, and as such, I require no explanation...

Exactly what is it that Bush or Cheyney could say that would interest you so much?

Something perhaps to reinforce your negative opinions of the current Admin? Is what you seek
information that would show your opinions of Bush are wrong?

Gaard and Conjur, You have already taken a position on the current administration and there is
nothing that will change your mind. You are no longer openminded.

Doesn't that scare you, at least a little bit?

Ouch. Better be carefull now. You've just stepped over that sacred line. Have you forgotten the ROE regarding the "open minded" issue? There are certain lines you don't cross and this is one of them. How dare you question their patriotism by suggesting they aren't open minded any more😉

😀

/me sneaks back out of thread before the gnashing of teeth starts...

So I guess Dick and Bush just want to get their stories straight. Hence all of the pre-questioning warm-up in the White House . . . don't want to appear inconsistant.

The commission should pull that old police trick and lock 'em in seperate rooms. Then individually go in and tell 'em the other one already sold the other one out.

"Yes, Mr President, it's true. Cheney already told us that you deliberately ignored the daily PDBs and that all you could talk about was your lousy golf game."

You say that I am no longer open-minded. Mind if I ask you what it is that I am no longer open-minded towards? Does the fact that you don't care and that it doesn't bother you suggest that you also aren't open-minded?

And I have to tell you that I am far, far less interested in what these two had to say than I am in the fact that they demanded to say it together.

"full cooperation"

Oh, and one word for you CAD...pathetic.

I think I made that very clear 😉

Yes, you could spin it that way
And I have to tell you that I am far, far less interested in what these two had to say than I am in the fact that they demanded to say it together.
which leads us back to 'speculation', and yours would be the lack of
"full cooperation"
which would lead back to

What would the answere to "why" do for you? 😕

What scares me, Ozoned, is the fact that people actually support Bush and think he's a great President. He's a total puppet. He doesn't think about issues. He has surrounded himself with yes-men, fellow ideologues. Their minds are made up before they begin a faux discussion (just look at the Energy Task Force, the tax cuts, the war on Iraq, the environment, etc.)

He is a charlatan.

WTF?!?!

[The 9/11 Commissioners'] notebooks were taken from them before they left the session, with the White House saying they would be returned to them after they were reviewed for classified information...

I'm sure that every other question required Dick and Bush to swivel their heads slightly and confer with the team of lawyers sitting behind them before answering.

I certainly wouldnt trust a few of the lowlives on that commision not to record the discussion. They are all, after everything is said and done, politicians. They cannot be trusted.

The real question is why are we doing this now. The war is still going. Having a commission like this during a war is unprecedented. The 9/11 commission serves no purpose other than to attempt to discredit the administration - they're not out to actually solve anything.

I agree. The left is so embittered it's nearing some sort of insanity. Obsessive hatred that overshadows what might be best for the country.

If you'd both realize that this is an independent, bi-partisan commission set to find out the reasons behind the intelligence failures going back to the days of Bush, Sr., then you'll see the truth.

From what I've gathered of the various testimonies so far, the crux of the problem lies within the FBI and the CIA.

If it werent for the personal attacks on witnesses I might take some of this seriously, otheriwse its just garbage. To sit and watch as witnesses are bullied and not even allowed to answer questions is ridiculous.

Seriously what do Republicans actually believe in? I mean any facts you bring up they simply refute, it's pathetic. They are so stubborn they won't admit to any wrongdoings or anything bad about their boy Bush. Face it, Bush is STUPID, he's a puppet. You take away his advisors and his cabinet and HE"D HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO IN OFFICE. Everyone knows that. And don't give me this he went to Harvard crap because we all know he got in cuz of his daddy's connections. He's got a DUI and was charged with possesion of cocaine, face it he's just a puppet.

The Roberts Commission convened on Dec. 18, 1941.

This refusal to meet individually makes Bush look completely out of touch with everything going on in this adminstration. There are only 2 Reasons why he would do this:

A. He doesn't want to come off as uninformed so he's using Cheney to "help" him

or

B. He truly is out of the loop and is allowing Cheney to respond to everything while following it up with a "yes" (thus, he's a yes man).

I'd like to see it spun otherwise. A complete and total crock.

Get off it..

"Ninety-nine percent of the questions were directed to the president," one of two participants in the Oval Office meeting that spoke to Fox News said.
"He answered them all ... and didn't have to turn to anyone for guidance," said another. "He knew them all."[/quote]

Bush declined to reveal what he told the commission, saying the panel would incorporate his and Cheney's comments in its final report.

"I'm glad I did it," Bush said. "I'm glad I took the time. ... I enjoyed it."

He said Cheney "answered a lot of their questions."

Thompson said Bush "was asked the vast majority of the questions and he answered them ... I thought the president gave a five-star performance."
