Wow, just look at the hate spew....

Now where was that thread about happiness?....

That's what seven years of executive excellence leads to. God knows I didn't know too many Republicans who were whistling and smiling about Clinton in 1999, and he was an infinitely better President than GWB (or at least infinitely less bad, if that makes sense).

What was that finding in that study.....

Those that were more educated and were more on top of current events were less happy? I guess ignorance is GOP...er bliss.

Seems Cheney was one of the more influential vice presidents in history, for the right or wrong reasons.

No doubt about it. Cheney transformed the office of Vice President to its most powerful standing ever. It shall be interesting to see if future VPs follow in the same tradition.

And yet they were voted in the office....twice.

Where are all them bush supporters?

Probably cheering "4 more years."

I'd vote for him again. Or support any other method he used to remain in power.

Marked for anytime you post anything.
btw is this treason? Claiming to support the overthrow of the government?

No more treasonous than people suggesting that Cheney should have shot Bush.

Yes, that is unequivocally treasonous. Another good call on your part, techs!

No one seems to understand the nuances of blaring sarcasm on either side.

I'm not sure they will, Bush doesn't seem to be a very strong figure in terms of "buckling down the ship". Cheney on the other hand seems to possess this power that people notice when they see the man. If Cheney had ran for president I think people would have been scared of him, probably for good reason. I'm not sure future VP's will have the combo of being unilaterally strong and focused when your president is at the same time seemingly weak and lost.

Haha! You know, from all the books I've read on Desert Storm, Cheney was more of a liability than a help in planning and executing that campaign as Secretary of Defence. Powell's job as head of the Joint Chiefs seemed to primarily involving "handling" Cheney. I can only imagine how meddlesome and annoying he's been as Vice President.

There is no happiness when it comes to this administration. Not even when bush says something that would've been endearingly dumb had he not been a complete son-of-a-bitch sack of crap.

Well, you might be less well known for your sarcasm and more for saying things that are stupid.

TLC, go read a few dozen posts by Pabster, JD50, Palehorse, or even Profjohn, for a refresher in how to bring a rational and sane thought process to bear while supporting a purportedly conservative perspective.

I'm about as anti-socialist, paleo-conservative as they come, and your mindless fascist ramblings, cheap insults, and avoidance tactics are an embarrassment to anyone to the right of .. let's say .. Castro?

Come on. Tell us how you really feel!

(Haven't seen that one before!)

I can't, too many cuss-words. 😛

During his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this morning, President Bush told the crowd of raucous right-wing activists that he ?appreciates the fact that? they ?invited Vice President Cheney? to speak.

Between intermittent cheers of ?four more years,? Bush told the crowd, Cheney ?is the best vice president in history.?

i've seen the last place team in a rotgut moonshine drinking contest behave exactly the same way for exactly the same reason.

edit - syntax

Need I remind you, Cheney called Rumsfeld the best sec of defense in history, and that came some months after GWB fired Rummy.

As for me, I look forward to Cheney speaking in his own defense at the Hague. Methinks the judges will not be impressed with the de facto President of Vice.

Apparently the American public does not consider Dick Cheney the "best Vice-President in history."

Text
Polls: Cheney Nears Quayle as Least Popular Veep
Vice President Dick Cheney?s popularity has hit an all-time low, with recent polling by The New York Times and CBS News suggesting that he has replaced Dan Quayle as the most unpopular vice president in recent history.
Two polls taken in May and June reveal an erosion of Mr. Cheney?s base of support ? seen in both his job approval rating and his favorability. Just 28 percent of those polled in June approve of the job Mr. Cheney is doing, while 59 percent disapprove ? a reading similar to that of President Bush. (In July, 1992, Dan Quayle?s job approval rating reached an all-time low with 63 percent of the public disapproving of the job he was doing as vice president.)
The highest rating for Mr. Cheney was 56 percent in August 2002. Mr. Cheney?s favorability among Americans has also suffered ? it fell to 13 percent in May, from a high of 43 percent in October 2000.
The polling shows that he is even having trouble among his conservative base. Just 31 percent of Republicans and 26 percent of conservatives say they have a favorable opinion of Mr. Cheney. And 47 percent of conservatives questioned say they approve of the job he is doing, while 40 percent disapprove.
