Same question dahunan.

Explain exactly how you think anyone here is supporting a dictator.

in your case,

Explain exactly how you think Pres. Bush is supporting a dictator.

If AnandTech purchased their shirts from a North Korean factory and then sold them to you and me would they be supporting a dictator?

Bush fanboys are true to form...supporting a dictator.

Conjur, you seem to have a reading comprehension problem but I'm willing to give you a chance. Explain exactly how you think anyone here is supporting a dictator.

*I* have a reading comprehension? HA! Don't be a tool, etech. It's rather unbecoming.

Here, let me hold your hand through this.

"The official merchandise Web site for President George W. Bush's re-election campaign has sold clothing made in Burma, whose goods were banned by Bush from the U.S. last year to punish its military dictatorship."

Are you with me so far? See, this is called hypocrisy. Bush banned goods from Burma yet his official merchandise website is selling goods *from* Burma.

Ok, hope I haven't lost you yet. We're moving on to the conclusion.

Supporters of Bush are buying this merchandise in great quantities as this link is spread across the internet. Therefore, Bush supporters are buying goods from a country that had its goods banned by Bush and that makes them ipso facto supporters of a dictator.

There...was that in simple enough terms for you?

I'm sorry Conjur, I didn't realize you were so stupid.

The items in question were bought by a company BEFORE the ban went into effect. Now unless you believe that "great quantities" means 60 items left over from before the ban than I would say that you are a partisan tool and you and the democratic campaign can't find anything else to whine about. That looks pretty good for Pres. Bush.

Do you have any items made in China in your house? Who are you supporting?

Why would Bush buy them from BURMA to begin with?

Seems the only American Job Bush is concerned about protecting is HIS OWN!

Bush did not buy them from Burma.

That wasn't even a good try.

But yet the items were still sold after the ban took effect and sales are still brisk. You honestly think Bush fanboys care about a technicality re:the date the law technicially went into effect? Bush's official website was still supporting buying goods from a country known to be a human rights offender.

I wouldn't think this is a big deal. After all globalization will help our economy. And all those snazzy US Army berets were made in Imminent Threat Communist China.

Something is only a fact when it is in favor of the Republicans, like the presence of WMDs in Iraq.

Fact, the few items in question were imported before the ban that Pres. Bush put into place took effect.

So what's your point?

The point is not the items were imported before the ban, etc. The point is the symbolism of not supporting American products whenever possible. You cannot even say cheaper goods because Kerry's items cost LESS!

With all due respect etech, you're looking like the desperate one here. I'll repeat what I've told you before: Lighten up, Francis. Get that pole out of your arse.

This is one of those embarrassing, yet inconsequential stories where rational party supporters slap their foreheads, say "Doh! You got us, that was dumb," accept good-natured ribbing for a few days, and everyone moves on. Instead, you and the other bleating Bushies have your boxers in a bunch. You flatly cannot acknowledge even the slightest hint of a flaw in your feckless leader. You are turning this molehill into a mountain through your knee-jerk counterattack. I expect this out of Cad. I thought you were a little sharper.

You want the facts? Here they are. The Bush campaign screwed up. If they had half a clue, they would have insisted all their goods be U.S. manufactured ... just like Kerry. Lord knows they could afford it at their inflated prices, and it would have shown they recognize the plight of working Americans. (They don't, of course, but I digress.)

At a minimum, the Bush campaign should have screened the merchandise from their vendors to make sure there weren't any embarrassing gotchas. Ooops. That horse is out of the barn now. In spite of that, they didn't break any laws or do anything materially wrong. They just made a bad P.R. move. It will pass. The fate of the Presidency doesn't ride on this. Sh!t happens, even to perfect Republicans who talk to God.

(PS. - SuperTool: I suggest you change the title to Bleating Bushies' Boxers Bunched to more accurately reflect the content of this thread.)

(PPS. - etech: the line above is one of those humor things you don't grok. Keep working on it. You wouldn't want your face to freeze in a perpetual scowl.)

Bowfinger,

I agree this is one of the incosequtial things that the desperate democrats are trying to make something out of.

That's really all it is. Your attention and the attention of the other democrats only goes to show how desperate you are.

Nice try on the humorless thing again. That's also inconsequential as far as I am concerned with all respect that you deserve.

Still reading zero on the clue meter I see. You are making far more of this than the Democrats. Your inability to be self-deprecating, your knee-jerk hostility, and your insistence on pigeonholing those who don't agree with you 1000% as evil liberals will ultimately be the Right's undoing. The world is not black and white, nor will it suffer indefinitely those who cannot see shades of gray. I only hope you don't take the whole country down with you.

Thats a typical attitude, youll nail someone to the cross for something that didnt break any laws then turn around and say it doesnt matter about the other countries because there arent any bans. If you actually gave a damn youd boycott them on your own without the gov telling you its wrong.

(ps , excure my typing, im using wifeys machine as xp sp 2 has totally hosed mine.)

Nice jokes there Bowfinger. I'm starting to see how your sense of humor works.

It's the democrats portraying this as black and white. They started the thread and are spreading this around the web as if it's important.

Evil liberals, your words and your pigeon holing solely because I don't agree with the democrats that think that some pre-gan sweatshirts mean something sinister about the Bush administration and dare to point that out. Try castigating the dems that are making something out of nothing. The ones that seem to think that style is more important than substance because they are the ones that need help, perhaps not your help, but help.

Ooohhh, I hope you don't take the country down with you too.

Tell you what. You show me where those Democrats "are making something out of nothing" and I'll see what I can do. On AT, at least, the only ones I see making a big deal of it are you and the other Bush toadies. (Which was my point in the first place.)
