Clinton and Gore literally sold nights in the Whitehouse for campaign contributions. This was a first and why there was such an outcry.

Please.....you don't think the same type of people are staying in the White House with Bush now? Don't act naive.....

You need to look in a mirror. Campaign contributions are public knowledge and there is a line that Clinton crossed and even many Democrats said at the time he went too far.

so let me guess.

getting sleepovers in the white house by contributing to the democratic party is bad.
getting sleepovers in the white house by contributing to the republican party is bad.

Clinton and Gore should be blamed for doing that because it was wrong.
Bush and Cheney should NOT be blamed for doing that because they're republicans and you support dubya.

grow up. A lot of republicans are hypocrites.

Wake up bozo! It was happening long beforeyou knew you were a liberal and that was sometime ago!😉
If you're old enough to remember the original Bozo, you're probably as old as I am. 😉

Now, that said, the fact that it's gone on before does not excuse letting it continue. You self-styled "conservatives" ought to think about exactly what it is you're trying to conserve. A good start might be a government of the people, by the people, and FOR the people. That might even mean getting rid of all that corruption you're saying has been going on for all that time. 🙂

Quite a concept, huh? 😉

Yeah, Clinton might have crossed the line. I could care less. My point is that Bush is crossing the line and I hope he is called out on it, just as Clinton was. They are all crooks, so I appreciate it when they are called out on it.

Jesus Christ. How stupid can you be. They saw all the heat that the last admin took over this and they go and do the same stupid thing. Idiots.

The money ought to go to the park service, just like if you had rented a cabin at Yellowstone or something.

Difference is that the sheep will still vote for Bush.

Baaah bahhh baaahhhh!

Actually, it's 22 for me. I just haven't "played" with any bush in about 4 🙂

Anyway, back on topic 😀

Like I said.....still a lucky bastard........try 18.

... and idiots will still make inane comments that have nothing to do with the topic.

White House sleepovers? Hmm... (picturing a pillowfight with songwriter Kinky Friedman, country singer Larry Gatlin, pro golfer Ben Crenshaw, and Michigan Gov. John Engler..)

Republicans are every bit as corrupt as their Democrat counterparts; instead of sex, the vice of choice is money. The issue here is that if you criticize Bush for this, you now get labeled as a Terrorist sympathizer.

Clinton actually sold nights at the Whitehouse. Offered for contributions before the fact. That was a first. It crossed the line.

I agree that it should be law than this cannot be the case, but inviting guests to spend the night at the Whitehouse has been commomplace since God was a kid!😉

Until Clinton came along this practice had never been used to directly collect money. He did it first and THAT is why it made the news.

For those that dismiss it saying "Well, they are all crooks!", I'll remend it is the only game in town and if you don't like the players vote someone else in or STFU!

It's a non issue. It was a non issue when Clinton was President too. The only ones that made it an issue where anti Clinton whiners. Only snivelers of the same ilk really gave a damn.

But administration officials told CNN there is a difference: the Bushes' guests were all close friends or family members, and not just major donors and members of the Hollywood elite.

Amazing, give somebody a 6-figure donation and "poof" you become close friends. Ken Lay was a close friend but I bet Bush has "shoot on sight" orders posted. Give money, get perks. Say you will give money, get perks.

/elfenix starts working on wacky plan to sleepover at the white house...

now which frat party will jenna bush be at this weekend?
