Bush approves only of heterosexual marriage

Fear (and ignorance) is what drives homophobes to their beliefs (Oh my god! He's gay! Stay away or you'll make me gay, too!)
I sincerely hope that you aren't waving "homophobe" around as a word that means people who don't think that homosexuality is right. I find that homophobe is just a word that liberals tend to use because it's become so emotionally charged. I don't see people who think that sex outside of marriage being called "hetero-phobes" or maybe "forniphobes". That would be a idiotic as calling someone who simply believe that homosexuality is wrong a "homophobe".

How about a response instead of drivel?

Joe
How about not drawing parallels between murder, drug addiction and homosexuality when trying to make a point and then we'll possibly take you seriously?

This is about two people, of the same gender, being legally married. You people are getting all caught up in the sex (primarily the male sex as lesbians don't seem to be on anyone's radar since they're somehow "erotic").

From Merriam-Webster:

Main Entry: ho·mo·pho·bia
Pronunciation: "hO-m&-'fO-bE-&
Function: noun
Date: 1969
: irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals

I think they're talking about you there, bub.

Oh dear me. I wasted bandwidth. Yes, I read your entire post and found little merit in it. Where in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights does it say that homosexuality is morally wrong or evil? Your post reads like typical religious drivel stating that the only valid form of sex is hetero. Give me a break. What happens to your rigid moral belief when your own child turns out to be gay?

Like it or not, the Founding Fathers WERE fighting for freedom, something that is in short supply lately. That freedom should very well include the right to gay marriage, despite your homophobic attitude. Equating gay marriage or homosexuality with murder or any of the other things you mentioned is way over the top. Murder harms someone, but I'd be hard-pressed to see where homosexuality or gay marriage is harming someone. Oh excuse me, it's corrupting the morals of your children, right? Let's ban TV and anything else remotely harmful, why don't we?

Mine too.

May God bless you with a gay child gordy.
The sad thing is that any child of gordy's who realizes he/she is gay will probably kill themselves rather than come out to a parent who would shun and disown them.

And no, I'm not kidding.

and just why do you think i would disown or shun them?
If its a crime to let my kids have a nice clean childhood, lock me up.
If idiocy were a crime, you'd be serving consecutive life sentences.

So then....what would you do if/when one of your kids (assuming you're even married) comes out to you? Embrace them or send them to a camp to have them "reprogrammed"? Do tell.

i have a 19 year old step daughter, a 13 year old daughter, and a 3 1/2 year old son, embrace them.
Uhuh.....even when they bring home their same-sex SO for dinner? To Christmas to meet the extended family? Move in with them? Ask you and the rest of the family to attend a commitment ceremony? Ask you how you feel about gay marriage? Then what, Mr Embrace The Gay Offspring?

Face it, you're a hypocrite with baseless hatred of homosexuals. Consider youself "pwned", as you so eloquently put it.

His pwned what? It's you're. And, he's far from pwned. You know darn good and well what his answer will be. A far cry from yours, I'm sure.

until you answer that consider yourself pwned.

pwned? How so? Because you say so? I don't think so, Mr. Homophobe.

If my daughters come to me and say, dad, I think I'm gay, it wouldn't bother me at all. We'd sit and talk about her feelings, when she started feeling that way, what she plans to do, etc. I wouldn't scare the hell out of her nor disown her like you probably would.

didnt answer the question, yes you're pwned, if had your true convictions as you state it should be as easy as a choice of peas or corn as a side dish...

The question was "Given a choice, would you have a homosexual child?" correct?

Do you mean "have" as in "Push a button at conception guaranteeing the kid will be gay" or "Via yet-to-exist technology, you find out your child will be born gay. Would you push the other button guaranteeing the kid would come out straight"?

Kindly clarify and I'll be happy to answer your question.

Why support something that is not natural? Not natural as in a religious thing, but from an evolutionary stand point. Humans are the way they are to reproduce...

And there's never been an exception to that 'natural' thing? We should just kill anyone who's gay right now.

Do we have consenting adults in a murder case? No.
Do we have consenting adults in an armed robbery? No.
Do we have consenting adults in a rape? No.
Do we have consenting adults in a burglary? No.

Get the point yet???

Sure... just wish you did.

What about brothers marrying sisters... that's illegal even if they consent. What about speeding? What about two people planning thier own murders (joint assisted suicide)? What about two people having sex in public? What about someone choosing to shoot heroin or smoke crack? MOST laws prohibit consenting adults from doing things which don't necessarily DIRECTLY injure anyone else.

Look at all of the evil people in this world!!!
I see that you equate a person's action as the definition of the person. I don't. The person may do something evil (are there ANY of us that don't at some point) and yet the person himself is not evil. Likewise, just because a person does something good, that doesn't make them a good person.

conjur... I'm stunned! I can't believe that Webster's uses that idiotic definition. It's like calling a claustrophobic someone who "discriminates" against small places. Just stupid! But, as you pointed out... they have accepted that definition for some time.

Yes, I read your entire post and found little merit in it. Where in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights does it say that homosexuality is morally wrong or evil?
It doesn't. But are you to shallow to be able to look to the other writings of the people who put that constitution together in order to understand how THEY wanted us to interpret it? As was quoted, the constitution is inadequate to govern anything but a moral and religious people. Why do you think they said that?

Murder harms someone, but I'd be hard-pressed to see where homosexuality or gay marriage is harming someone.
Do a quick search for "Gay Bowel Syndrome".

I bet he hates blacks, too! Another with nothing intelligent to say so he starts with 7th grade derogatories.

By that logic there would be a law requiring all persons over 18 to marry and conceive children since not having children is "unnatural". The world is already overpopulated, sorry.

I think that I will now take this opportunity to offer my opinion on the institution of marriage in these United States...

A man and a woman stand up in their church or their courthouse and then they take a solemn oath before either their God and/or their government to take the other in marriage "for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, forsaking all others, 'til death do us part."

And then they get a divorce 5 years later... :disgust:

Unless there was abuse, infidelity, or some other injustice, how can one break a solemn vow like that?

Anyway, that's what I think.... if the gays want to join the "we're all big fat liars and oath-breakers" club, I say let 'em...

Cause no one cares anymore. Those are the same people who go to clubs every other night looking for a woman or man to bring home for a one night fling. Really, morals have gone out the window.

Incest (good grief...grasping at straws, eh?) is not the issue here. Speeding (which as the potential to injure many) is not the issue here. Joint assisted suicide (which, imo, should not be illegal) is not the issue here. Drugs (which are drain on society and can be lethal to oneself and others) are not the issue here.

Behaviour/actions taken by consenting adults in their private lives which in no way affect anyone else in the world is what is at hand. It's closer to me saying that you can no longer have a BBQ in your backyard or that you can't have vanilla ice cream.

1) I'm not a liberal
2) You are the one that apparently loathes homosexuality with such ferocity as to fit that definition.

You have apparently reached the limits of your debating material and are now grasping for straws.
