That's right dipsh!t Sometimes even us Elite Members make an error. Now not to acknowledge that error would be Moronic..or to call someone a Moron because he acknowledged his error would be Moronic.
Nah I still think you are dumb. 😀
Just because you admit being a moron it doesn't absolve the post. 🙂

Please explain the hypocrisy, for arguement's sake. I mean, the sentence was good, it had a nice rhythm and all, but I don't see the hypocrisy in wanting to ban gay marraige.

Go ask any gay man and I'm sure they'll be glad to show you how it fits.

hooooooow about we legally define marriage as being a legal union between two people rather than a man and a woman? is it really the belief that not only are gay people sexually immoral, but they're also so deceitful they'd pretend to love each other just to get insurance benefits? let gay people get married and give them the same rights as heterosexuals, because when it eventually happens anyway in 30 years those who opposed it now will be regarded not much better than the segregationists of the 50s.

The Hypocrasy is that most of these Moral Guardians are no better than those they judge. How often have you read about Priest Buggering Altar Boys or some Fire and Brimstone Prot Minister get into trouble for extra marital affairs?

For arguement's sake, I'm going to go marry my 3 brothers and 2 sisters tonight, then start reaping massive tax breaks. I'm also considering marrying my 8-year-old daughter...

He admitted his mistake and apologized. Better behaviour than other members I know.

And that has what to do with gay marriage? We're talking about consenting adults here, not some twisted version of the Brady Bunch.

Well, in my opinion, for there to be any specific hypocrisy in this situation, Bush would have to marry a guy... maybe Bush and Ashcroft would hit it off!

First and foremost that's illegal!

Who says you can't consent at 8 years old? who are you to push your morals on me? And believe it or not, when brothers & sisters are over 18, they are still brothers and sisters.

😀

Would it be possible for the government to take their hands off the marriage issue entirely? Leave it up to employers (save the government itself) to decide in what manner to extend benefits and create competion in that way? Perhaps keep taxes the same for married vs. non married individuals? Legality would only come into play as far as joint ownership/custody issues and could be extended to both hetero/homo as it would not make an impact on the governments finances and there would be no ulterior motives for marriage.

Not rubbing it in Red, but you got pwned on that one, but join the crowd we've all had it happen. At least you admitted to your mistake.

In any case, this is just extending what Clinton's position was on the issue, so why are all you libs so up in arms about this?

Sure, you can consent at 8 years old. BUT, the law says otherwise. Besides, an 8 year old isn't going to be able to make an informed decision about getting married. I'm not pushing my morals on you, but your example doesn't have anything to do with two gay people getting married unless you mean marrying your brother or something.

My morals are decidedly lacking in some areas, but this IS an attempt at a serious discussion. 😛

My point is that many of our laws are subjective, and based on morality. Regardless of where this is derived from, it is forced on us. A few hundred years ago (in western society) a girl of 10 could be married off to a 21-year-old.

It's not now. Whether you or I find it repulsive doesn't mean that it should be illegal.

You are right and that is one of my biggest gripes and being a Christian. How can you be a Christian and judge others against a higher moral standing that you yourself can't measure up to.

Yes I have done this myself and I am ashamed, but I have asked for forgiveness and I improve everyday.

I see no reason why same-sex marriages shouldn't be treated the same as non-same-sex. I mean...isn't this country about freedom? About freedom from discrimination? From persecution?

ahh, where's the freedom from christian-bashing/hating?

Won't hear me bashing christians. As long as they keep their religious beliefs to themselves and do not try to impose their morality on me or anyone else.

as long as the Libs keep their "Heather has Two Mommies" away from my kids...

liberal doctrine is a religion so we can keep it out of govt.

Bush Stop it John, you know how that excites me!

And so on.
