Not trying to start a flame war or big discussion here, just trying to find out about some things...

Has Bush actually violated any specific treaties with the UN (or any other international treaties) during his presidency, particularly with the pre-emptive Iraqi strike? If so, which ones?

Please keep this innocent, children, I'm arguing anything here, just asking. I'm curious about the whole "America will not seek a permission slip..." thing. Thank you.

Relax, o high and mighty Elite Member. A forum for more serious discussions of politics and current events. Passions are always high on all sides of these subjects so keep your posts on topic.

And I just said I wasn't looking for discussion, right? Just a question.

Hmm, I'm not sure, but honestly the UN is a big joke anyway. If I was Bush - or any leader for that matter - I wouldn't give a crap about it. It's a bunch of un-like minded entities trying to move towards separate goals. Inherently incompetent by design.

As far as I know, No. He did not. Iraq was in violation of their surrender (whatever it was called). We responded. I'm not the most informed person on this matter, but I believe that this is what happened.

let's not kid ourselves, Russia is clearly the SU's heir. A change in goverment doesn't anull treaties.

Having said that, there was nothing 'illegal' about withdrawing. IIRC, the treated provided for each country to pull out if they gave 6months notice. But then again, it had nothing to do with the UN either...
