I love the tendency of the bush haters to find the most extreme examples out there and lump him into it.

I have nothing against Bush or Blair but they DO NOT deserve the nobel peace prize in ANY WAY! I just don't see for what they should win it for, perhaps at a later time when the dust has settled in Afghanistan and Iraq I'd be more inclined to award them with such a prize but as things are at the moment I would just plain say NO. BTW Chirac, Putin and Schröder also don't deserve it. Because since when do you get a prize for making a diplomatic asshat out of yourself?

I thought a "Peace Prize" was given to folks who brought about peace out of fear of war.... not war out of fear of peace.

Are you trying to say that Bush doesn't want Peace? (a concrete yes or no would be appreciated)

So your definition of a concrete yes or no is "not any more"? Does that imply he didn't want Peace? Is that link suppose to imply the same? Doesn't read that way to me(i've read it before;) ) I suppose if you think that inaction and apathy equals Peace then your link might seem to say what you seem to be implying. A simple yes or no would have sufficed - I know my stance, I don't need your "help" in forming my opinion - I was asking for your opinion.

"Yes or No" doesn't apply to your question, whether he wants "Peace" or not is moot. The question should be, "Has Bush brought Peace?"

No - It is my question and it called for a "yes" or "no". I wanted HDJ1 to clarify what was trying to say by answering that question.

Peace can and sometimes must be achived through the use of force.

OK, I'll play.

Yes, I believe it is likely that Bush does not want peace, or at least he wants war more than the consequences of peace. War is good for Bush because it keeps people fearful, it triggers our patriotism so we support him more and question him less, it distracts us from his miserable record on the economy, terrorism, the environment, and civil liberties, it distracts us from the malfeasance within his administration and the scandals surrounding it, it gives him plenty of opportunities to funnel money to his cronies, e.g., Haliburton, and it provides an exceptionally effective vehicle for delivering the neo-cons' fascist agenda. In short, war is exactly what Bush needs to retain and expand his power, and that's the only thing at the top of his priority list.

Having said that, your question was a red herring, irrelevant to the topic at hand. Your "concrete yes or no" is a disingenuous ploy to manipulate the discussion into a position you can easily refute. You used to be much more interesting, when you actually provided responses to issues in a discussion rather than blindly chanting whatever Bush-apologist dogma you can jam into the thread. I think Republican hard-liners are becoming desperate as the Bush grand illusion continues to unravel, bit by bit, slowly but inexorably, one thread at a time. The day of reckoning is coming.

In my opinion, of course.

The question was directed at Luny Ray to clarify his position (which he seems to not want to define). You people read into things WAY too much.

tell me the agenda ... I'll tell you the position .... I gave you the link because it suggested that Bush would do what Bush thinks he has to do to further the WMD scenario... I don't know the Agenda... I don't see him getting a peace prize for war under the guise of fear of WMD...
