I'm still impressed to see that in an age where every country seems to reduce their expenses to sanitize their finances from the 70's and 80's, Bush seems to think that the greatness of the US resides in spending more than anybody else to maintain a high standard of living...

Someday, you have to pay for what you buy. I hope he is careful when playing this game...

Bush has got to do something. Right now we're in a recession. If he wanted to have a balanced budget, he'd have to either raise taxes, cut spending, or have a combination of both. In either case, we'd only sink deeper into a recession. If he did that, then everyone that is blasting him for having a deficit would blast him for 'ruining Clinton's economy'. He can't win.
