It is my first OC and I am lost:
Red that the Bus speed is the same for both RAM and CPU:

http://benchmarkreviews.com/in...8&limit=1&limitstart=4

If so my CPU has a Bus speed of 200 and a multiplier of 15 (stock config), does it mean that my RAMs are running at 200 x 2 (DDR2) = 400 Mhz istead of 800????

Shall I double the Bus = 400 and set the multiplier to 9 to have 3.6 Ghz coupled with 800 Mhz RAM?

I am willing to reach CPU: 3.6 to 3.8 and Ram 1066 on standard cooling can anybody help me on how to do it: NB, Vcore and RAM voltage????

Million Thx for the help.

Thanks for the link... Very interesting for C2D owners but didn't find answers for my questions:

1- Can I oc my ram to 1066
2- if yes shall I increase my fsb from 200 to 400??

1.) You can set it to be overclocked to whatever you want. Whether it will run at that speed is another question.
2.) There's a lot more to memory overclocking than just setting a speed.

You need to find a stickie somewhere, preferably about your motherboard.

RAM speed doesn't work the way you think it does. Take a quick look at Wikipedia here.

DDR2-800 does NOT run at 800MHz. The memory clock is 200MHz, the same as the default Athlon/Phenom Bus clock. i.e. with everything set to auto in your motherboard, the memory will run at its rated speed.

The name DDR2-800 refers to the "effective data rate" - its how fast you'd have to run non-DDR (no longer in use) to run at the same speed.

Do _not_ try and jump to 400 bus speed.

Do we not have an Athlon/Phenom overclocking guide stickied? Edit: yes we do, here.
