Burnt PSU

I recently accquired a tyan thunder k7, with this awesome motherboard i need the weird WTX PSU,
only made by NMB and Delta, but the Delta is only available to large OEMs. Once accquiring it, i installed and connected it and powered it on, unfortunately the fan never turned on but i never noticed. Upon smelling something burning i discovered the failed fan and several seconds later the power supply shut down. My question is whether the power supply failure has damaged my motherboard and other devices? and if so do i have any chance of getting some one to pay for it, if its out of warranty on that item? Thanks.

PS Even though Athlon will tell u the opposite the regular Athlons will work just fine, even 1.4 ghz ones 🙂

You might have fried the processor if it was the CPU fan that failed to work. If it was the power supply fan that failed, which sounds more likely, then the MB & CPU should be OK. I burned up my old power supply when I upgraded to a new MB & CPU, but everything worked great when I popped in a new power supply.
