I have a thermaltake powersupply and an Asus SK8V. This thing has been stable as a rock since day one, and then it started hanging and such.. I loaded the Asus probe app, and it started beeping right away.. Turns out the 3.3V output is around 2.8. To make a long story shorter, I ended up pulling the main power plug and the corner of it is burnt and melted. Ive had this board since about the first week it was released and it is kept clean. Any ideas on what would cause that to happen? Id like to try to keep this from happening again.. Next I was going to try swapping the power supply and hope the mobo is alright.

I had the same thing happen to me with an antec true power 480 and an older epox 8kta motherboard. It looks like on mine some capacitors had blown out, so I theorized the power supply started feeding extra power to make up for the mobo's reduced capacity to efficiently use power, and in doing so the power supply fried its own connector.

Look at your capacitors (the cylidrical things sticking out around the cpu slot). Are they buldging out at the tops, perhaps leaking white chalky stuff?
