I gotta say, BO:p is the first game that I've ever seriously considered waiting for the "GOTY" edition because of the sheer amount of high-priced DLC.

Aside from different cars and new scenery, this doesn't look like it adds anything to the gameplay. If there was some kind of story to the game that the extra content added to, I might be tempted, but it's hard to spend the bucks just for more scenery.

Not to mention it's already low price. Burnout Paradise is one of the best deals in gaming right now. $30 gets you an awesome game with tons of freebies. 1000 points makes this a spendy add-on, but I'll buy it just to support the devs which will hopefully show companies that supporting their product this way does garner good will and generate revenue.

Not available on PSN yet. What a tease, you can download the update and see the island. The road to the island is open but when you enter it says you need to buy the pack!

I just wish the core game itself were more fun. I LOVE the earlier Burnout games, but for me the idea of a sandbox racing game is more frustrating than anything else.

I paid the full $60 for BO when it came out, and yeah, it was great that they released a bunch of free DLC, but I'm sorry, $5 for a car? $13 for this? $10 for a "party pack"?

I can't abide with them going directly from "free DLC" to being raped for DLC.

After playing paradise, I tried to play an earlier version - bleck. It even ruined Gotham Racing, etc for me... Loading screens suck, at least when I am driving back to the start I am doing something... haven't played since they added the night time though.

If they make a story based sandbox burnout for the next game, that would be awesome, I think.... or used the burnout engine for a "Mafia" type game.

IMO it was the first killer app for the PS3. First multiplatform game that wasnt inferior to 360 version, seamless online. Mugshots made use of the camera, and they added custom soundtracks and event restarts.

The island isnt too bad. Probably the first paid Burnout DLC that is worth the price. Although 10 events for $13 versus 100+ for $60 seems a bit much. Its basically the Quarry, dirt track and airfield all throughout the island.

are there any older muscle cars in the game, like Challengers, Chargers, Camaros, Mustangs, etc? anything in DLC?

One of the first cars you get is the old Mustang... and they even have the new Camero. Tons of others, pontifez!

Also, it is a great game. Much better then all the other racing games out there. The add-ons can get pricey, but even Big Surf Island is worth the money. It is totally fun.

I bought the "toy truck", which I don't play much. I did get the flying DeLorean from Back to the Future! It hovers, and is a blast.
