Anybody who's an SBC customer has probably gotten this mailing, but for those of you who haven't....

No real downside to this: if they can do it you'll get 1.5M minimum DL for $36.99 a month. If they can't you'll pay at most $36.95/mo for (I think) 768k~1.5M/384. Even if you got in on the earlier deal to lower your rates to $36.99/mo for that speed you're still getting 4¢/mo knocked off the price. Not shabby, eh?

Not trying to thread crap but you can get basic cable and cox 3mb/286 for $49.95 a month
and for the $10 extra your paying you get 18 local channels (ya ya i know they're cheese
since you can get HDTV for free over the air) but for the assurance of getting 3mb down 24/7
i'll easily go 10 more. I have heard that SBC was supposed to start hooking up 10mbit up/down
here in vegas but that's been about 3 months and still nothing. Sprint has fiber to the curb in
certain parts of town and that's 10mbit half duplex (1400kb up or down) for only $32 a month.
You either have to buy a home in the area or rent in one of the apt complexes that have it =)

Any other info about high speed in vegas post it!

this deal is pretty normal to me... with 1.5/128 being ~$27-30 and 3.0/384 being $35-37

Right now I have 3M down Comcast cable and 1.5-3 SBC DSL. The Comcast cable costs 39.95 a month and allows me to get *approx* 24kbs up, 50kbs down in BitTorrent (on a good night). The rates are all over the place, depending on how much my neighbors are using. My SBC DSL will get 40kbs up and 80-100 kbs down, CONSISTENTLY. Comcast would often require a refresh on the IP lease after a few hours of downloading (do they detect huge amounts of bandwidth and cancel the IP lease?). My DSL has been rock solid the past 3 weeks, never requiring a new lease.

...and it's a few dollars cheaper...

Fortunately, I live in a new apartment complex. SBC has a DSL ?router? located right inside the complex.

I canceled Comcast a few days ago.

Hot as 1000 suns? no. But still a good deal. If you are lucky enough to live near a PoP.
