I've never gone, but lots of my friends have (i'm from Reno orginally, kind of close to there). They had fun.

ya, i'm dying to go, always seem to be busy when its on. Should be 118 degrees temperature in the desert this year. 1960's freakshow, gratuitous nudity, home made floats, body painting, cross dressers, right out in the middle of nowhere. Tho recently there is a police presence, which kinda ruins the happy anarchy thing.
one of the things i must do before i croak. (Or before its shut down - its kinda got outta hand now with all the people)
I hear the badass dust out there can get in your lungs and mess you up.

Actually a bunch of us from sacramento are all going! We were just at the last Pre-Burning Man Party in SF last weekend on the piers! It was great, if you have a chance you should at least go on the day they BURN! I think its like day 10 or something!
