Burning issues

I have two writable drives in my computer. Both drives are giving me problems, one of them is a DVD-RW drive and when I tried to burn a CD with pictures through Picasa it said it burned but when I tried to play it, it says it was blank, no space. The other drive a CD-RW drive, when I tried to burn it through Picasa it just hanged. The status bar didn't move, I couldn't cancel it. I had to shut it down by holding the power button. Anyone knows what is going on?

OS?

View my website - check your CD/DVD filter drivers.

ChAoTiCpInOy,

Did this just start? How old is your computer and have the drives been working OK before? Lots of unknowns. Could be the IDE channel on the motherboard, could be a troubled mobo or similar... Check your cables and double check them.

Can you put your hands on a different CD or DVD burner, do a swap and see what happens? Might tell you something. If the swapped burner doesn't work, I'd consider an RMA for the mobo.
