If you're looking for free CD burning software, XP has it built right in. But I recommend you buy Nero or Easy CD creator 5. Either one will suit your needs better than the integrated XP burner.

true, sad you cannot burn from iso or create bootable cd's with the XP software. It does audio CD's but I have never tried it so I don't know how it would compare to Nero (which I use as well).

Guess it's more reasonable to buy a new cdrw and get nero with it- nero alone costs $40, and a new cdrw would only be another $20. thanks all.

Nero's a great burning suite, EZ CD is pretty decent too. WinOnCD is fantastic, IMHO.

I can't comment on XP's burning stuff, never bothered to use it.

I used to be a big fan of EZCD, but Nero has won me over...I feel it to be more reliable than EZCD.
