Burning In Headphones - Why and How?

I'm getting the Koss PortaPro's in soon, and was wondering if someone could help me....

tape two wires to ur headphone plug, stick both wires into an electrical socket. that should burn em in faster.

:)

Well, I'm not an audiophile, but it seems to me that there are 2 basic options:

1) Fancy: Use a special "burn-in" track on a Stereophile Test CD.

2) Budget: Use a regular CD.

Either way, leave the music playing for hours and hours, and... voila!

Burning in is where you leave music or something like FM static on for a couple of days. Over a time usually around 20-30 hours. I believe it works, as my HD580's sound much better after burn in.
