Dump THOUSANDS of dollars in tuition all to save a couple hundred dollars is not a very smart move.

I believe he said "skip", not "drop out"...

I thought about calling. I have all my local numbers jotted down for when the stores open, but then thought to myself if I call, who says that the BB dude won't lie and keep the deal for himself/herself? Even if they say that they have it, they might not have it once I get to the store because they can't (won't) hold anything for you.

Anyway..

I'm on the phone now. Best Buys phone systems are HORRIBLE
I'm calling long distance and so far blown nearly 75 minutes of my calling card on them
no answer yet.

Ok, best buy sucks.

I'm STILL trying to call. I get the tallahassee location, after waiting 20-30 minutes on each call (called asking, no. called again, had sku, wrong number given to me by the gainsville ga location, calling now, still on hold)

the second I call "Jason" in home theather he just picks the damn phone up, says "hold please" then sticks the phone down on the counter and leaves me there almost 15 minutes before I call again.

I'm on hold now waiting for him with what I think is the right SKU, probably the wrong one again.

Good grief BB blows, i've never had such a problem on simply checking an item.

nearly 100 minutes gone off my phone card, at $.06 a minute, means I just paid $6 to waste my time!
:|

Update:
I finally got the right SKU from another store, and talked to someone that could actually do what they're suppose to.
They said that none where in stock in North Florida, no display models or anything. all the stores I've called had never heard of the SX series, only the DX.

Your milage will vary quite heavily on this one.

Isn't Finals a BIG part of your grades? I figure he would fail and have to retake the course... which essential would be the same. :D

Checked the Cincinnati, OH stores (Fields Ertle and Tri-County). Nothing, they even went as far as to say they've never heard of it... they didn't have any other Panasonic flat screen (Tau) TV's on display either. The employees probably already snatched them up, heh.

Same milage here in Indiana. I called 4 stores around Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne... none had it in stock, and most acted like they never heard of it. One guy said he sold out about 3 weeks ago.

Good luck to everybody else...

Local BB just told me they don't carry it anymore and they only have the high definition Panasonics now. Good luck to others though.

I have this same T.V. and can confirm that it is an AWEsome T.V.

btw, an open box clearance item means that if you ain't the guy making the original post, you ain't getting in on the deal.

"YMMY" is a understatement...

Yes, OPEN BOX is a DEAL for the guy who first posted it ONLY. But unfortunately, this guy did not mention it and missed this HOT HOT deal.
I donot have this kind of luck ever, so I bought a TV, SHARP 27 FS, at goodguys.com for $450.

What are BB and BM - I know it sounds stupid - but I just like to check it out if there are such stores in NY

BB = Best Buy

BM = Bricks & Mortar (i.e. you have to go into a store)
(alternate = Bowel Movement ;))

BB = best buy

BM = brick and mortar (the actual physical store)

In this case, they are saying the sale is only at best buy physical stores.

At first I was going to make a BB run, now I think I'll just call instead. Yeah, I'm lazy.

So if you have Amex Blue, could you buy this at Circuit City and then pricematch it using Amex Blue to the Bestbuy webpage link? Or does it have to be in stock?

I'd even go as far as to try Good Guys PM if only BB had it in stock. The stores open in 10 minutes, I'll be making some calls.

As I know, AMEX doesn't care whether BB has it in stock or not. But it is on clearance. Maybe it won't go through althoug the website
doesn't indicate it is on clearance.

Nope, because the bestbuy.com website doesn't even list the TV.

The BB near me in SD doesn't have it, too bad... =( I made my parents buy this exact TV for $420 a few months ago and its REALLY good, if you can get it for $240 its extremely worth it. The picture is great! Not to mention, if you dont have an external speaker system that you want to use, this TV has a really good sound system.
