:)

While at Home Depot today I saw this Kidde home safety kit and picked it up:

1 Kitchen/Garage Fire Extinguisher (B/C) (2lbs. of agent)
1 Full home Fire Extinguisher (A/B/C) (2lbs. of agent)
1 Nighthawk Combination Smoke Alarm/Carbon Monoxide Detector
Battery Operated-3 AA batteries provided-(Model #KN-COSM-B)
1 Nighthawk Ionization/ Photoelectric Smoke Alarm
Battery Operated-1 9volt battery provided-(Model #PI 9000)

Was $60, Now $40.

This set and price are incredible considering if you purchased these Items separately:

1 Kitchen/Garage Fire Extinguisher ($10-20)......Not sure if in stock in the same size as in the kit
at Home Depot, looked slightly smaller, could have been the same one was $9.97.
1 Full Home Fire Extinguisher ($10-20).......In stock at Home Depot $9.97, $12.97 at Target
1 Combination Smoke Alarm/Carbon Monoxide Detector ($39.97-45)....In stock at Home Depot $39.97
1 Ionization/Photoelectric Smoke Alarm (Don't remember the exact Home Depot pricing I think it was $24.97
On two websites I found it for $30.19).

So at minimum if you were to purchase these items separately: $9.97+$9.97+$39.97+$24.97= $84.88 Meaning at minimum you save $44.88 getting the kit. If you went to other stores hardware stores you could pay as much as $20+$20+$45+$30.19= $115.19. Meaning you could save $75.19. Heck, you would spend $40 if you just purchased the Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm.

Thanks! This is a good deal! I moved into a new house and just picked up the fire extingusher from HD I believe for $12 or $15. I might just get this in case, with my wife's cooking you never know when a roast or something will catch on fire!! :D

Thanks, but I'd probably want the adult version for myself. Did you see any at HD when you were there?

Good Find, Monkey!

You can never have to many fire extinguishers in the home. Get one for the car while your at it.
Regarding kids and fire safety: this FEMA offer for Sesame Street Fire Safety is one of the more useful things I have seen my tax dollars produce.

Technically NOT a flaming hot deal! This kit will put the flames out before it gets too hot!

Alright, bad joke. Anyway, great deal! Gonna go check out my local HD today for it. Been looking for fire extinguishers for both the home and the car.

Thanks for the heads up!

Glad you'all liked the deal.

I picked up the last one at the La Habra Home Depot (Southern CA). Which is why I thought it might be a hot deal.

Salvador, they had the industrial/professional strength fire extinguishers which are rechargable for $36.xx and I think they had another for $54.xx. They were not in a kit. Hope this helps, I didn't really pay too much attention to them because they were way out of my price range.

Cool, thanks. I need a new fire extinguisher.
Also thought I'd add:
1. Gasoline kills ants.
2. Don't pour it on a black top driveway and then later ignite it to get rid of the vapors.... blacktop burns.
(ooops)
