Burning DVDs

I have 2 questions

1). Is there any program or any way to remove the protection on move DVDs so that i can copy them?

2). I have several downloaded movies on my computer. Do I have to do anything special to get them to play on my TV/DVD-player? such as converting files etc?

1) Try DVD shrink
2) Convert them into MPeg-2 and use a program to burn them on DVDs. I use nero to burn mine.

checkout www.afterdawn.com (please forgive me if posting a URL to another site is against TOS and delete/mod this post as necessary)

Please Note: everything you are trying to do is illegal so to be honest even though I know how to do it, I cannot condone it or tell you directly step by step. Just check that website for lots of info on this subject.

Good point.... But many out there ar elooking for ways to rip their dvd's onto their laptops for travel. More efficient for battery life, and with three or four movies on their HD, they don't have to carry the disks.......

I use netflix as a rental service... I spent 200 days travelling for work this year, and I'm looking for a better way to watch my movies on the road.... I'd be doing it from rentals and deleting them after the fact -once viewed. far as I'm concerned that's fair use provided I delete them... So there is a legitimate use for such software... though I recognize the ease of abuse it creates.
