Burning a file

If i want to burn an .iso file should i burn it to a cd-r or a dvd-r, in other words a vcd or a dvd? this would be used to play in a dvd player
 
Well, I was gonna ask what kind of file, also, but ur size has it already answered. CD-Rs are only 700MB. You'll need a DVD-/+R.

EDIT-
In case ur wondering for future reference, a VCD and a DVD-R will both play in any stand-alone DVD player.
