Burner Software question

I finally ditched the old zip drive as a back-up solution and installed a NEC ND-3250A DVD burner over the weekend. I picked up the OEM version from newegg with no software and wondering what software I'll need for it. Any tips on driver / firmware upgrades regarding this drive would be helpful too. I'm in the process of downloading trial version of Nero right now, but frankly it looks a tad expensive for a full version.

As a side note, I picked up an Antec Sonota case to replace my old generic beige case and can't believe the noise difference. While it's not 100% silent it's damn close and makes the noise from my old case sound like a jet engine during takeoff.

Nero is awesome - keep an eye on the Hot Deals forum and you can catch good deals on OEM versions of the software.

I don't even know what other software exists to burn DVDs. Adaptec used to make Easy CD Creater, but there was one version that was horrible and after that I switched to Nero forever.

I used to be stuck with Easy CD Creator (bundled with my long-dead HP burner), then CDRWIN (powerful but hardly user friendly). But once I got into Nero, nothing else even comes close.
