Burner refuses to burn file - Why?

Here is the deal.. I have a 700 meg file and I have tried burning it 3 times now. The programs (tried Nero and HP CD Easy Write or something) show the file as fitting on the 800 mb cd, the burn starts, the little burn light flashes on the drive, the programs verify the data and all looks well but when I go to check to see if the file is on the disc, windows shows the disc as being blank. I tried reading it on other computers but all say the same thing.

Other files burn fine, just not this one.

Any ideas?

did you finalize the CD? if the disc is not finalized, most CD-Readers will see it as blank. Finalizing it just writes the Table Of Contents.

Yup.. burnt a bunch of cds in a row. Doing the exact same thing each time, this one file just refuses to be burnt and I cannot figure out why.

It's not, by chance, a copy of another CD, is it? If so, it could be protected by safedisc 2, or some other copy protection scheme.
