Hey guys, I burnt a hole in my brand new computers dust filter, rendering it useless, so I need to get a new one.

What are my options?

Turn it into a "Do it yourself" project and grab a filter at Home Depot or any other hardware store. If you can find filters that are Carbon charged (keeps dust stuck onto filter), it'll work even better than the filter you have now. Use Velcro if you have attaching!

I have no idea how I would do that. Do they sell Antec 300 size filters at home depot that fit into the plastic frame so that it will slide in and out like the stock filter?

I was all excited when I saw that, but then saw that they are out of stock.

Antec's a pretty good company. It couldn't hurt to call them up - you never know, they might just send you another filter.

I have to ask though...what were you doing that burned a hole in the filter?

How did you burn a hole in the filter? How big is it? You might be able to put a screen patch on it. Or buy a new one from the antec store.

Im assuming that there were some.......herbs involved and you thought it would be funny to poke the filter with some while they were on fire :p

Well you see, I had just finished "partaking" when I decided I would use my lighter as a flashlight to look inside the front of my shiny new computer. And then I heard a sizzle sound.

:(

Really takes the fun out of the shiny new computer, which was otherwise perfect, and now has a blemished case weeee..... yeah I'm kind of superficial like that.

I'll probably just end up having to buy a new case and doing a reinstall, and then of course something worse will probably go wrong, and it will be a never ending spiral of computer problems all because I did something stupid again when I was h1gh.

I wish Antec had the replacement filters in stock. I guess I'll call them tomorrow and see what's the deal with that.

Can anyone tell me where the serial # is? Is it one of the numbers on the box, or is it somewhere on the chassis?

Thanks,
