burn memory stick

accidentally stick the sdram in backwards
turn on the computer
turn the right fu*k off
smell heavy burn
the stick got a burn mark on it
my computer won't see it
but see other stick
I have test the slot for memory on my motherboard, they are fine
What can i do know
Would they RMA it
 
first things first, how the hell did you get it to fit in backwards. second, i dont think they would give you hassle, just dont tell them you stuck it in backwards 😉
 
Me too. I once tired putting it on backwards. Wouldn't even come close to fitting in. Did u break anything on your mobo?

I was too lazy to lay down my computer,
so I did it with the computer standand
and i push it really hard
althought i though it is weir that i did not heard the clip sound
but i double check, it is clip tight
Nothing is break on the motherboard. this is so weir
 
yeah i mean it's physically impossible for it to seat all the way (isnt it?). the ram has the little indent and the slot has a little hump where they mate. maybe it just wasnt seated properly? you could try rmaing if it has a lifetime warranty. although the burn marks may not go over too well...
 
eh ram is cheap, and you learned a lesson.. jus buy another stick, not worth the hassle to try to RMA it.. jus my opinion..
