i have a question, ive read on a few sites that before i start to overclock that i should burn in my processor and memory...but i'm not too sure on how i should do it...i have four sticks of ram 2x512 pc3200, and 2x1gb pc3200, they all have the same latency timings and all are kingston brand (i bought them as a dual channel kit, each pair). i have read that i should run memtest865 to burn my ram in, but should i do it with all the ram in the mother board or one stick at a time?

and when i burn in the processor (im going to use prime95 to do it) which torture test should i use?

by burn-in, do you mean by the myth of lowing your voltage to achieve a higher overclock....if you are, then don't bother....not many results proving that it works, IMO waste of time

if your talking about burn-in for like thermal interface material (as5 maybe)...it'll burn-in after 200 hours of usage

what i think your talking about from your post is about testing for stability....just run memtest and prime95 (small fft)

Unlike speakers, memory does not "burn-in". What you're thinking of is testing for stability. If your processor can run demanding tasks for large periods of time ("burn-in"), then you know it's stable. It does nothing to improve system performance.

yeah i just saw a post about burn-in and it seems to be very useless to do the burn in..process...

ok but for running memtest should i run it with all the memory in the computer? or do it individually (one stick at a time)?
