When that Enormous Omelet sandwich came out, some reporter asked a BK spokesperson about the scary nutritional content (40+ grams of fat and tons of calories). The BK person replied that they have lots of different choices and the sandwich appeals to 18-25 year olds who want a filling breakfast for cheap.

So "hella" probably fits in with that strategy.
