Yeah, heard this on the nightly business report.

"White House" economists want to call burger flipping jobs "manufacturing jobs", rather than service jobs.

Hmm, maybe it's not such a jobless recovery after all ;)

Maybe now they could make a cheap robot to construct the burgers, and not make a mess of them.

Fast food workers and assembly line workers are one in the same. Fast food workers don't provide much of a service in comparison to their restaurant brethren.

Pay rates.

The key to the lie is to make it look like high-wage manufacturing jobs are being created in the "recovery" instead of minimum-wage no-benefit service jobs.

IS THIS HOW DESPERATE THE ADMINISTRATION HAS BECOME?

They have to look hard jobs that can't be outsourced and then try to classify them as manufacturing?

OH DEAR, what if they could be outsourced?!

No, but sadly this kind of thing is becoming the norm. Winston Smith would feel more at home every day, and not liking it.

Were in recovery?

Gee, you couldn't tell by the trade deficit and steadily declining economy.

After spending the last week doing taxes I seem to be pigeon holing every aspect of of life.

Burger flipping as a manufacturing job? I guess. Although, the selling of those bergers would be retail industry.

If you don't like the rules of the game, change the rules.
Then you can win.

Sounds like Standard Operating Procedure for the cretins in the Bush administration.

And of course they will all be salaried meat managers as to avoid being paid any overtime.

If they are reclassified as manafacturing jobs they will just outscourse them to Mexico where they will assemble them, freeze them, ship them, Then there will only be one person at the burger joint, the Microwave guy. Microwave is high tech job you know.
