You guys are crazy it's almost like saying russain jets have engines and missiles and thay also have wheels and 2 wings!!!! thye copied our jets!!! I mean even if they only saw a picture of the shuttle they could still build a basic desing from only the visual side of the shuttle and it would look similar. Russians are not evil give them some credit, they were once as powerfull as you americans were.

They were never as powerful as the U.S. for a multitude of reasons. Yes they stole our shuttle design. We stole some of their technology to you know. After all they were the first ones in space so you could say that everybody stole from them. Give them a break, there shuttle is better.

Hahaha. The Russians would spend a year's worth of space program funding on a single Buran launch.

It ain't gonna happen. The Buran is dead and buried -- just like Mir, only more so.

Even Mir2 ain't gonna happen any time soon. Russia can't even provide well engineered, NASA-rated ISS support in a timely fashion.

1st.5-rate theory, 2nd-rate practice.

Buran: ancient history; 100+ NASA missions behind the time.

Remember people, the Russians were able to rub two sticks together and go into space well ahead of the US of A. I say, give Russia the chance to prove itself. I have read a great deal about Buran and while the 100 tons is bull, some of the other info on the shuttle isn't.

As for copying, it makes perfect sense. Why should you go and do all of this r&d when another nation already has something that works fine. Just get some corrupt FBI agents to steal the blueprints and you are in business.

Russia has potential and a track record. America has potential, a substantial track record, and unparalleled economic substance.

You do the math.

Why would you even care if the Russians coppied the design 100%?

Right now the USA has a proven design that works. Why waste billions of dollars (that they dont have) to try and re-create the wheel?

If Russia can get back in the mix and pump up their space program, money will become available to them. When they have more money they can begin work on far more advanced technology.

I would think the next great advancement in space exploration is going to be a joint venture between the USA and Russia.
