Are there any motherboards that have completely abandoned floppy, ide, serial, parrallel, etc? Do regular pci cards fit into various pcie slots? Is 6 the largest number of sata connectors offered?

Semi-related questions: I've seen boards with sli support and boards that talk about having two pcie slots to allow for a physx card. How does the physx card work - just need one card for the system no matter what, or need one for every video card, how do multiple monitors work with physx &/or sli, etc?

Abit's offerings are fairly legacy-free as far as ports are concerned, though they still offer at least one regular IDE port AFAIK.

PCI and PCI-Express are completely incompatible at a physical level.

One Physx card per system, but study up on them before you put any money into one.

SLI supports one monitor only.
