Bunch of "urban wasteland" pics

Cool pics. For some reason I've always found that decaying urban environment a fascinating photographic backdrop. I suppose it's why I like a lot of old 70's movies set in inner cities. Glad I don't personally live in such an area, though.

Yeah, dude. Industrial pics are awesome. Thanks for the props. 😀

I've lived in Chicago 16 years but never been to rockford. Perhaps I should do it this summer...

Yeah, man. If you do, we can go to Mary's Place and grab a beer for a buck. Hamms FTW. 😀

I really like urban/industrial/architectural type photos, but I just am not very good at spotting opportunities for them. I'm more of a people, animal, sports photographer.

DainBramaged, I like photo #3 the best. There's just something kind of lonely and sad about that one railcar sitting there with the overgrowth around it. Nice job.

Cool pictures!

I always have been wanting to get into photography, but dont have the know how, or money to get the equipment 🙁

ah well, one of these days

pics weren't all that great, subject matter wise... but Pic 2 is brilliance... i love it. the door screams for attention and shows that the restaurant has been abandoned which further tells the story of the quality of the town's area.

I think the pictures are provoking Dain. B&W is so uncommon these days, it's still a great media.

And pics.bbzzdd.com works just fine for me whenever I go to use it. I love free and pics is free. What's a better solution?

In the 4th one, the Lennox truck looks way out of place for some reason, and same with the Lancer in the 5th one.

I agree on the lennox truck....otherwise good start. I wanna get into this too. Just need a better cam.

I agree. I'm going to go back to pic 5 location and try to get it when it's empty.

I really like that pic too. I know they were nothing great, but what I do is just take a bunch of pictures and mess with a few of the ones I like best.

That was probably one of my top five pics out of the seventy or so that I took. It was just a perfect setting for the emotion that I was trying to convey.

Yes, the Lennox truck is anachronistic considering what you're wanting to achieve.

The pictures seem a little out of focus to me. Anyone else?

so, on the second one, did you add the restaurant sign, or was that there? it just sticks out in the photo for some reason... its weird.

It was there. I did not doctor the photos in any way other than changing them to B&W.
