Hello, I hope I posted this in the correct section, if it is wrong please move it.

It's been a while since I have been around here and in the FS/FT section and I have a question about this Neffing rule that I don't remember from before.

I see that it is still refrain from bumping more then every 4 hrs as it was before.

What I remember tho is when I would get to my computer after a while there may be a few people that had bumped my thread for me. It was customary (or at least I thought it was) to respond to those bumps by bumping their thread back. At times I may have 3-4 bumps that people had given while I was a way. Does this mean that I am not allowed to return those bumps when I get to the computer?
Another thing I remember doing was browsing the FS/FT section to see what was for sale and If I finished reading a thread that hadn't been bumped in a while I would bump it to the top for the OP. Is this no longer a good thing to do, or is there some level of reason I should fallow?

Thanks for the help

You may bump others threads regardless if they've bumped your own thread or not.

What we do discourage is multiple bumps all at once, which we define as the equivalent of neffing. There is not a total written in stone but we do ask politely of the sellers and buyers not to bump more than 4 other threads per hour.

The reason for this is fairness and everyone likes to have their time on the first page. When you have a member, who literally will bump 20 FS/T thread in a 6 to 7 minute period, a person who just got to the first page can be knocked off within minutes.

Bumping other people threads are fine, just keep it to the max of 4 per hour and you won't hear a peep from us mods. :)
