Bumping Dead Threads

when people bump a thread that has been dead for several months (and when they bump it with a pointless reply that doesn't add anything to the original thread), do you get annoyed?

just wondering. I'm pretty indifferent to it myself, but I've been to other message boards where people get flamed for replying to anything that's been dead for longer than a week.
 
Usually, like you said, if it's something inane. But alot of times I've seen really good threads that I wish were still around (I usually try not to bump), and it might spark interest in that topic again.
 
Yes but people who start stupid threads asking if it annoys me annoy me more.

How do I add a poll... hrm..
 
yes because im usially like O good post and post in it not realizeing ive allready posted in in 3 times because of it being bumped back from the dead
 
Depends on the type of thread. If its like the tetrinet thread to tell that you're playing, thats fine. If its an anecdotal thread like things you did bad, thats fine as well. If its like a review on Star Wars II: Attack of the clones, then that is annoying. If its relevant regardless of when its posted and new replies can add meaningful content to it, then I'm fine with it being bumped.
 
i think threads get archived after 30 days of no replies.....could be wrong, but i thought i remember reading that.
 
If I posted 10 or more times a day and lived my life on forums as well as the internet then bumping old threads might bother me.

yes it pisses me off. It makes me wonder how far these people search on ATOT. Do they scroll through pages of old archives or something to find them?
