i have one since my garage has valet parking only and the guys aren't always careful. seems to work fine.

I see these in Manhattan, but they don't look like they're worth the hassle if you don't regularly park a nice car in a jam packed area.

I do live in the city. Only thing I am worried about is that it would encourage people to not be careful when the park. I would imagine some people would have the mind set, "Oh, he has the rubber thing their, I do not have to worry if i tap his car".

i don't leave mine on the car all the time, just pull keep it in the trunk till I reach the garage.

Street parking on NYC = dings and scratches, this might reduce them a tiny bit but really, there's no avoiding it.

edit:

the one thing they do help with is when someone decides to ram into your car with a front mounted license plate holder that juts out, cause little imprints to appear in your bumper. this will prevent that.

I'd use it only if 6" spikes come flying out if it's bumped.

Seriously... If I lived in an area where something like that was required I'd buy a 2nd beater car or something. Or just buy a new bumper cover every few years
