I got the last one for my uncle at my local bestbuy. Ordered online did in store pickup and got the printer for $11 bucks too.

+$11 for the printer, true... also +$38 for a 17" crt, if anyone wants one.

Got the whole shebang @ $249 as a new rig for my grammy, cheap as heck, and plays online spades and pogo just fine.

I bought one at BB (online pickup) for $199.00 + tax, then went to Staples with the receipt and bought another for 182.00 + tax - $50.00 easy rebate.

THANKS OP!

I'm not sure I'd be that hard on it.

At least it has a PCIe x16 slot, meaning that with another stick of RAM and a $40 graphics card this machine would more than hold its own.</end quote></div>

what does this mean it'll handle? any of the newer vid cards?

ie 7600gt

Damn, I wish I would have known about the printer and the CRT 🙁 I picked mine up already and I don't want to go through the huge hassle of returning it+buying another. Argh! I guess I don't really need either, anyway.

Okay, maybe the printer 🙁

Anyway, it has no floppy drive, and lacks serial\parallel ports. Memory is configured as 1x512mb, and I plan on picking up another 512mb stick from Newegg for $25 shipped. The case is one of those new BTX jobbies, I think. Also, the HD is SATA, the DVD drive is IDE.

That's the only media that came with it. THere's also a 7gb recovery partition, which is more or less standard, I suppose. 141gb total free on C:, so I guess it's a 160gb HD after all, they just market it as 120gb?

HP/Compaq had a class action lawsuit against them because they sold their computers without revealing that a large portion of hard drive capacity was used for system restore purposes. I'm guessing that they are a little scared of more lawsuits so their using larger capacity hard drives to compensate for this.

Can anyone else confirm this? Could I return the PC to BB after I buy from Staples?

Sweetness.

Picked one up.......came with a 160GB like others. Vista is obviously slow with only 512MB RAM, but I had a spare 1GB Kit which really opened it up....still going to XP though.

Anyone got a clean download link to the NIC drivers? XP doesn't like them and I don't have a spare PCI NIC lying around.........the ones from all the forums on the intarweb were no dice.

got in on deal, paid $230 OTD with the hp all in one printer, came with a 160gb Deathstar HD, and 1 stick of samsung pc-5300 ram. Upgraded to a 250Gb HD, 6600 Video Card, and swapped out memory for 2Gb, will make a good gaming rig

Not available online...BB is too far away.. 🙁

Ahwell, I shouldn't spend the money anyway.. 😛

I got the store E-mail claiming mine were ready to pick up. Quite a drive, but a nice getaway from work to go get them.

Whoo-hoo

Nyc stores have none, sucks, i'm about ready to replace my old $200 emachine.</end quote></div>

I'll sell you my Dell.... 😛</end quote></div>

A little beyond my needs ATM. i already have a rig to game on, and a whole other gaming rig to sell. I don't need the machine for anything more than to store my music and movies, running seti@home, copying discs and as a backup so i'm not totally crippled when my main system crashes. thats what my emachine does now but it's nearing 5 or so years old.
