Most likely a cyst or a gland. I have a gland on the right side of my head like that. I'm going to have it removed one of these days.
 
First, don't worry ... worrying will only make you sick. Second, it's probably just a benign cyst. My wife has a couple on her head. The doctor's probably going to say you're fine and will tell you to go home and leave him to deal with the sick people.
