If that were true you'd own a couple yourself;)

Actually not only did they have competition from HD but from the Japanese Bike Manufacturers who now have a multitude on models that look very similar to HD and Indians Motorcycles at about half the cost.

It seems wrong buying a Japanese Harley clone. Any other is great, and better than HD, but those clones seem so poserish.

Um, the community knew Indian very well. The problem was the bikes were plagued with serious problems from the get-go and service was poor. Not only that, but the prices were not competitive at all. $25,000 for a basic bike??? That's 8 grand more than a basic Fatboy. They were WAY overpriced.

Had the new Indian fixed these problems, they could have given HD a run for their money.

At one time I owned a 1959 650 Bonny. As cool as it was, it still wasn't a Harley or a Indian. (or a Vincent for that matter) there's just something about the engines on those that typify motorcycles to me.

It has been decades since AMF owned Harley. Harleys are no less reliable than any other bike on the road anymore. People routinely put well over 100,000 miles on their Harleys without mechanical problems.

Try and get a fat boy for 17K and LMK. MSRP and reality are quite different out west.

Then why does HD have a 20%+ recall rate?
