wait, the bullet WENT THROUGH HER STOMACH and it is being declared "guided by god"? If God was guiding it shouldn't the bullet not have hit anyone, or even better ricocheted off the bible and back into the shooters brain?

Yeah I was confused also...
Let me clarify. God wasn't really trying that hard.

She said that both her granddaughters are OK and that eventually Shyann?s bullet wound would heal. However, she now worries about the emotional scars the girls will carry with them.
?It took away her innocence,? she said of Shyann. ?You know, she trusted everybody. Now she trusts nothing and nobody.?

Guided by God, destroyer of trust, causer of emotional scars.

A watermelon Jaelyn was holding in her lap eventually stopped the bullet.

?Right in the watermelon. Didn?t come out of the watermelon,? Thompson said. ?The word of God and the Lord?s power saved. He sent the bullet into the watermelon.?
So, if I'm reading that right, the bullet went through a little girl first, and then into a watermelon, because that's how God wanted it? And they're happy for this?

😕😕😕

Oh dear sweet God, please give unto more children your blessings of traumatic and life-threatening abdominal bullet wounds. Praise be unto the Lord, and all that sort of rot!
Amen!

Even if the bullet killed her it would be by the act of god that no one else died.

Heh, yeah, like when a plane crashes, killing 200 people, but the lone survivor says, "God was looking out for me."
He was just really pissed off at the hundreds who died.

Perhaps if God had been on watch that day, they would have never been at the wrong place at the wrong time for anything to happen in the first place.

There was a spill somewhere in Arizona - a pallet full of ground paprika fell off a forklift, so God was really busy down there blessing everyone.

na, he would just be unbreakable

?The word of God and the Lord?s power saved. He sent the bullet into the watermelon.?

Just another example of people using their emotions (and pea-sized brains) to define god, when they have no real concept of what one really would be, if it exists.

But hey, if it makes her feel "empowered" to think she has a god watching her or on her side, then to each his own.
