indeed psu isn't 100% efficient. so the 130W number is relatively higher than the 293W number because efficiency of the psu rises when the powerdraw increases.OK I dont have my same board since its being rma'd from having a bad memory slot but I just ran my kilowatt meter for the setup im on now.
This is a full closed computer with 4 hardrives,4 fans,a pump and a gtx 560 video card.Im also using wireless usb network too.
total system idle power at 1.5 volts is 130watts just ran intelburn test at 5ghz and the kilowatt meter never went over 293 watts
and thats for total system power with the psu not being 100% efficient and eating some wattage.
So basically from idle to load you overclocked cpu consumes 163W extra. So add the idle pwr consumption and add the small efficiency gain and you get close to 190-200W for the cpu alone.
I suppose the intelburn supports avx and you run win7sp1?
