bullcrap computer guy says some bad stuff

im building my friend a computer and his dad has to ok it, so his dad goes to a "professional" computer man and shows him my spec sheet.
Here are some examples:
Epox 8K7A
Crucial PC2100 256MB DDR SDRAM
LITE-ON CDRW 12x10x32x
Diamondmax 30GB HDD

He pointed out these components and he said, "they are crappy parts."
I was about to kick his ass :| :| :| :| :|! How dare he calls those parts crappy!!! he really said that too! little korean fob(oh i can say this because im korean )!! doesnt know what the hell hes doing! cant even speak english well, although i was surprised he knew the word "crappy" tomorrow, i get to talk to him because my friend is enraged as well. im gonna set this guy straight and yell in his little sh!tface, that is all. have you guys ever met anyone like this? hes all doing this so he can get himself a little sale, i bet hes gonna throw REAL crappy parts into HIS little "professional" computer... (sigh) until tomorrow....

Lite-on is sort of average quality...Plextor is a LOT better. But that RAM is the best out there.

I bet he is just saying this so he can sell his POS system to your friend.
we have some people like that (local guys) they tell you stuff is junk and then charge you double the internet price for what you order. Sometimes they even include some hidden shipping fees or something.

I have been burnt by these guys before and I will never order another computer part from them.

Whatever you do, do not lose your temper over this. If you can quietly &amp; confidently explain these things, then you're going to be in the more powerful position. But if you lose your temper and yell and scream like a small child, no one's going to believe that you're able to choose the appropriate parts for a system. Be calm, be sincere and lay the facts out on the table. If your friend's dad doesn't believe you, then have him pay the *professional*. But tell him to have the *professional* fix the computer when it breaks and not to call you (unless you are to get paid).

There's really nothing you can do other than standing your ground with confidence.

I personally don't see the reason to spend the extra money to get a plextor. I have that same lite-on and it works fabulous. Maybe it won't last as long? I don't know, and personally for the price i got it for, i don't care. I have had 0 problems with my lite on. Maybe plextor is better, great you can rip audio at 1x speed faster or something. Oh well. rant

I have a Plextor 12/10/32a and its a great drive.
But there are other drives out there that are just as good for a cheaper price.
