Sent in about $500 worth of rebates over the holiday season. 3 of the 5 were for purchases through Amazon and flagged as invalid due to "Missing purchase location." I double checked my copies of the submission and Amazon.com is clearly displayed at the top of the receipt.

So I called the rebate tracking place and asked what was up. The guy verified the purchases were from Amazon simply by asking me and then put them through.

It looks like they are just invalidating all claims until you call. Smells fishy. Should I complain to Amazon, the manufacturer or someone like the BBB?

I recommend the BBB, but only if after you give it one more shot.
They are quicker to help if you have tried multiple times to get results through different means.

Well I can't give it one more shot because they accepted the rebates after I called the first time. They just verified I purchased the products through Amazon.com and then OK'd them even though Amazon.com was on the top of every receipt.

I just think it is funny each Amazon.com-linked rebate was denied for an illegitimate reason.

Yeah. I'm not seeing the problem here.

The problem is they denied the rebate for no reason. Luckily I was paying attention but I am guessing there are hundreds if not thousands of other people who won't pay attention and have their rebate denied for reasons that don't exist.

The denied my claim for "Missing purchase location" when all 3 receipts had Amazon.com all over them.

They are liars and thieves. That is the problem.

The problem is that out of the 1000's of people submitting these rebates a good majority won't notice or won't keep the documentation. Just because the OP caught it doesn't mean it's right that all of the others are getting scammed.

Personally, I'd just let it go. If other people are idiots then let them be idiots.

Rebate troubles, Bull**** or otherwise not found. If they had been, how great it would be if we had a place that dealt with rebate troubles.

~~~~ Rebate Tracking Thread ~~~~
"Are your rebates coming? Are there problems or delays getting them?
Post the latest information about various rebates, here."
Huh? Did you get your money? This isn't some vast conspiracy. A misunderstanding was made and quickly corrected. What lies were made?
Amazon.com is not a purchase location, it is a website. So what was the purchase location as in the address? Seems to me like the purchase location was indeed missing and it automatically got rejected.
Lol, spidey07 I can't tell if you are just trolling but I'll bite...
You seriously look up the physical address of the warehouse the item shipped from when submitting rebates? The rebate was an Amazon rebate. It was only valid on purchases from Amazon. You think they really needed a physical address? Not a single receipt on the Amazon site lists their physical shipping address.
Additionally, if they did need a physical address why did the guy simply ask if I had purchased it from Amazon? I was never asked for a physical address.
my advice is to never purchase anything you expect to actually get the rebate back on.
The rebate is a nice bonus.
I don't mind waiting for rebates so long as I actually get them and all rebates should be online rebates, we shouldn't have to mail stuff in anymore.
btw, with most rebates they let you write in your email address. They've sent me a link for updates / status on them using that email, so people... do it.
Do have any evidence that this wasn't just an isolated incident with your particular claims/receipts? Calling them liars and thieves based on pure speculation that "thousands of other people" are having problems seems a bit presumptuous.
