WTF? How are you suppose to use a single can of something over a long period of time?? 47 servings my ass, if you tried to actually use 1 serving or 3 servings per day, that stuff would be bad long before you finished the can. This is stupid...

Also it's $800, could you seriously not get more food for less money at Costco by buying the things individually instead of buying this kit? This kit just seems like it's using the nutritional fact labels, aggregating them all and then selling them as a kit.. Seems really stupid...

are you stupid?

78 #10 cans...

So? That's all of the cans combined...... Like I said, once you open the can, it's no good after a short period of time and if you plan on living off of this stuff for a year, you're going to be forced to eat only one food group a day or something like that. This would probably only work if you planned to eat this stuff over like 3 months with more people because otherwise the food will go bad too quickly. I think making your own kit would be a better idea, assuming you could get the same kind or better kind of stuff. (Freeze dried)

I love that they need to spell out basic math for people.

"
# 1 Year Food Supply for 1 Person
# 6 Month Food Supply for 2 People
# 3 Month Food Supply for 4 People
"

It's freeze dried. That shit lasts forever.
You don't even need to put it in the fridge.
Freeze dried foods probably does last for 3 months not even in the fridge.

edit: looks like i was beaten.
But no, opening it doesn't make much of a difference. You're thinking about canned foods that are sealed, and are usually wet.
Of course wet foods go bad quickly when exposed to the air.
This is FREEZE DRIED.

I wonder how many whack jobs still haven't used their Y2K kits yet? They are probably thinking they are pretty damned clever now,. One disaster dodged, but prepared for the next. :p

Ah well, I guess when things really went south I will thank her for all this prepwork...

I intend to turn to cannibalism instead. Bodies should be plentiful.

Wait...

You plan on being one of the Zombies?

Of course not, I'll cook the brains before eating them. Please stop such racist thinking, not all cannibals are zombies and perhaps some zombies can be vegetarians.
