I just purchase a DLP television and just realise that the bulb last 8k hour 🙁 .

Question.Yeah soon the bulb will end, does that mean that i wont be able to use my television anymore or i will still able to use it but at lower brightness?

so you just bought a DLP and you're already bummed out about a part that might go out after 8000 hours of viewing? If you watch TV 5 hours a day, it's going to take a little more than 4 years for it to burn out. Quit yer bitchin and enjoy the TV

NO im not saying i dont enjoy my television. But im just wondering if when the bulb will be finish if my television will still work or not.

Projector bulbs gradually fade (dim in brightness) as they age, or get used up. Eventually, like any bulb, the filament will burn out and you'll have no picture.

That said, all projection devices that use a bulb have a "lamp timer." This timer will alert you via an on screen display or a LED on the control panel when it's time to change the bulb. This typically occurs anywhere from 50-75% of the expected bulb life.

Most folks won't notice the bulb gradually getting dimmer, but it is/does. It's the nature of the beast.

Eventually, you will have to change the bulb.

HAHAHAH nice one hahah

You should be able to replace it yourself. What's nice is that you're up to full brightness once again, while other TVs such as a crt will never be like new again.

16 hours a day.Do the math.Less than 2 years and i gotta pay 200$ us to replace this bulb.

THis television is going back to where i bought it after the superbowl. They try to screw me over ...dumb move.I will ask for a full refund

Wah wah, I think you are just trying to justify bringing back the expensive tv on someone else's dime. Go to a rental center next time. I Hope they nail you for restocking fees.

And so it was written, and so it is done.

Dood, seriously you are a tard...8K is an insanely excellent bulb life span.

If a bulb is going to break your bank then you should have gotten a CRT.

Hm... considered only having the TV on when you're... uh, watching it or something? Or do you actually WATCH 16 hours per day?

sometimes the bulbs don't fade. I had to replace the bulb in my lcd rptv because it kept shutting the tv off randomly. Since I get a free bulb every year under my warranty plan I replaced it and it's working good as new.

Just a second. How the hell can u consider me stupid???

I just paid 2k on a television and every freaking year ( YES i am someone who watch, pardon me, who keep his television open 16 hours a day ) i have to pay 200-300 dollars to get the bulb replace???

I just hardly SAVED this 2k to buy one of these television and i dont have the budget to invest 300 more per year to get the stupid bulb replace. For god sake i am not making 50k a year but 14k a year....

Bulb DIE at around 5k hours( compagny claim 8k hours )Do the math 5k / 16 = 312 days

I knew by getting a discount from 3200 CAN to 1800, there was a catch. And it was that.

Tomorrow, the store is getting back the television.

Too bad, it was the nicest looking picture i ever saw...Log live my old CRT tube 36' trinitron 🙂
When u spend 2k on something.You expect that to give you 5y + of pleasure.Not 1....

Sorry I "considered you stupid." I now consider you a moron for...

1. dropping 2k on a TV without knowing this before you bought it
2. spending 1/7th of your yearly income on a freaking TV
3. having your TV on EVERY FREAKING WAKING HOUR OF THE DAY, even when you're NOT WATCHING IT
4. asking, and I quote, " if when the bulb will be finish if my television will still work or not"
5.
6. your complete and total lack of grammatical skills.

(I'm leaving 5 open so that when I think of something else, I can type it up, for everyone to see my ownage of you.)
