Built New Rig, Need An FPS With Eye Candy

yes ... you and OC'ing - they *don't* fry unless you are careless with voltage increases ... but i give up ... sorry
... i remember when you finally got your GT ... this IS a much [much] nicer upgrade

ANYway, the 'Lost Coast' Playable Tech Demo is a couple of years old ... all 'fixed' lighting and shadows ... Oblivion with the texture packs just blows it away

--and try FEAR again with everything *completely maxed* except Soft Shadows ... i'd say you get a completely new [free] experience over your old rig ... if you liked FEAR, i have the expansion if you want to trade a game ... i just got bored with FEAR and never finished Extraction Point after i lost the saved games when i reinstalled my OS ... and it is "more FEAR"

I got bored with FEAR at the point where the ghost/zombie/ninja/whatever attack you out of no where. I enabled cheats and finished it.

Play the FEAR Ending again ... with everything *maxed* ... force HQ AA/AF in the CP ... it is a VERY modern game, graphics-wise
-it will look like a completely different game and with Soft Shadows enabled [don't] it will remind you of performance with your old rig 😛

but the Best eyecandy is still probably Oblivion/Shivering Isles ...

COD2 isn't that great looking... I know Far Cry looks pretty good, but the game overall isn't an amazing experience. de_dust and dust2 have HDR mapping so they should look pretty good even with the fked shadows. 🙂

Played lost Coast again with all the settings turned up. It looked very good especially the water and splashes when items hit the water. Having it maxed didn't seem to slow the game down.
I bought Oblivion and it will be here in a couple of days. I have COD but I can't find one of the disks, I'll look into COD2.

so true. can't count how many times I've played through. each hardware upgrade I crank the details higher. wish they had come out with an expansion pack..

Probably because the game it's self sucks.

Nah, game was ok, the bulk of the voice acting and the story just sucked.

correct. awesome gameplay, unreal graphics. Kind of like the first time I fired up UNREAL and walked out of the crashed spaceship. Most defining moment in gaming I've ever had to this date. Just sat there looking around for a good 5 minutes with my jaw in my lap I do believe.
