Also I purchased Rounded IDE Cables and Tubed PS wires w/ split loom to help air circulation.

I thinks thats everything! I was really excited when I booted it up for the first time! ALOT of research but definately worth it.
Runs kinda loud, definately not to bad for a performance rig, I didn't expect it to be as quiet as retail computers...
Does anyone have any suggestions to make this PC better or disagree with my part selections, just let me know.
I'm curious to see what your thoughts are.... Take Care

Are you going to o/c it? If so, you may want to look into an Alpha 8045. I have the Epox 8KHA+ with a 8045 w/one of those Sunon fans on it and it's great.

Oherwise, that coolermaster will be fine.

undecided on the o/c issue but if I do, definately swap the HSF. and I appreciate the recommendation, I heard alot of good things about that Alpha. But did you have a problem with the capacitor on the EPOX?

Some of my parts are the same as yours like board,PSU,soundcard,DVD so I got to say great system 😉,mine too booted first time it`s great when you do all the research and see it all come together with that first boot 🙂.

No. It's close, real close, but not touching. I've heard people say they had to take the dremel to it, or even resolder it, but I had no problems other than you can't use the shouldered washers that come with it.

your system is very nice.................

for myself i went with a alpha 8045 heatsink...........i liked it alot except for the mounting setup. as such i went and changed that to useing studs like water blocks do. worked out great for me

*drool* damn, i'm jealous 🙂 what color drives are you using by the way? if they're beige, do they look decent in the silver case? i was thinking about the LianLi PC65 but only have beige drives...

i am currently using beige drive bays and its looks better than I thought! but if your the mod type, silver is your best bet for a slick looking case!

If you want to quiet your system, get an Alpha Pal 8045 and do the 7 volt mods to your case fans. I did this with my athlon 1800+ and not only dose it run cool, it's quiet as hell. Trust me, all that noise is going to piss you off sooner or later.

7 volt mod
^^^^^^
This mod is insanely simple and the amount of air thats moved more than enough.

Very nice PC. The only things I would change are Win XP Home Edition (I'd go for Pro) and, this being a personal thing really, if the fans start to bug ya I'd maybe drop by bgmicro.com and pick up some inexpensive Panaflos. Not another thing I can think of that I wouldn't want in my case. 🙂

You did very nice work IMHO and I'm sure with a rig like that you'll be enjoying time well spent building it. Or sending it to me. 😀
