Built in DivX codec player?

Is there a player that lets you view divx files without having to install the divx codec? I want to watch movies on a computer in the labs, and I don't have access to change the registry.

The Playa has it's on Codec built in. It's not my favorite player, but works alright and it's the only one I know of that has a built in codec.

I just tried the playa and you have to install the codec.. the message was

"install failed" when I tried to install the codec

isn't there some divx player that has the in the software.... like it doesn't mess with registry?

Unless they've changed it in newer releases, I'd check the update history to find out when and use the newest version that has the built in codec.

is worked in the older versions? because right now it isn't playing, even if I choose not to install the opendivx codec...

Use a proggy like DivX Mutator to easily change the format code on the movies back to Microsoft MPEG-4 so the original codec installed with Windows Media Player can play 'em. Doom9.org
